Applications in new version...
Many of you have asked why you are not able to see your YouTube videos and hear your iLike music list in your profiles. Applications are no longer active on profiles (you will need to navigate to the app's main page to use it).

These changes on the profile page were done to increase speed, consistency and security on profiles, which are very high traffic pages on hi5. We recognize that some of you will miss the codes, music, etc that allowed you to customize your profile in the past, but we hope that this change will allow us to focus on providing better, faster entertainment for everyone. This should in turn allow us to find new ways for you to express yourself on your profile. Please give the new hi5 a try, and tell us what you think! :-)

If you must have music and videos please paste the corresponding codes provided by outside resources registered with hi5 such as:

- iLike
- Imeem
- MixPod
- Reverbnation
- YouTube
- PhotoBucket
- Tinypic
- and many more...

We always encourage you to continue using the application hi5 is offering to you. If you know of any other websites ofering widgets and applications registered with hi5 please include them bellow this post so users can make a decission if they decide to use them.

As a Cortesy to our users we bring you up to date with these news.

Imeem has become part of myspace. Its applications and lists of music and videos will ceased its services according to decisions taken by their owners. Imeem music has fused with MySpace Music and users will no longer be able to use its embed to work on hi5. We'd contact them to request more information in reference to this issue and they have giveen us the followiing info "We do not intend to continue using the same embed code that Imeem has been using. Instead we will be using the playlists inside MySpace. We do not guarantee our new embed will work for all websites outside our network. Upon completing the transfer; Imeem will no longer be operating as an independent website and MySpace Music will take over. All copyrights and regulations for use will be the same as MySpace Music. "

If you are using Imeem inside hi5 to play music and videos, then your players will most likely stop working. I suggest you use any of the other options you've provided in the description of the topic.

Changes affecting YouTube music filters
As you all know there have been some changes in the way we listen to music online. If you are using any applications where you are using YouTube's database to only stream music and sound your profile will be affected. YouTube has changed its rules and regulations of use and it has agreed to continue using its embed throughout the internet but with the condition that the entire video(s) is/are shown. Any applications where only sound is filtered are being replaced with an error message.

If you are using MixPod you will need to include a new skin that will include the entire video. If you need to see what I'm talking about please visit my profile where I have replaced my mp3 player with a video player. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask them.

I have a YouTube link [posted on my profile comment list by my friend] which defines the video display size to be 1 x 1. This results in video not being displayed, but the sound used to start automatically at page load.

Now the sound does not start. However, once that I was viewing another YouTube video, the first video, suppressed until that moment, began to play the music simultaneously with the second one. I was not able to reproduce the behavior with subsequent page loads.

Does YouTube define the entire video to be shown, if the display size is scaled to 1 x 1 in the HTML tag?

To be honest I don't know much about their new changes all I know and have posted is because some people I used to worked with are maintaining me with this info. I will be going through the new regulations to see if it say anything about that - I'll let you know what I find.
